SECOND SKIN : ORGANIC UNDERWEAR WORTH LIVING IN

SECOND SKIN : ORGANIC UNDERWEAR WORTH LIVING IN

I’m often asked who I recommend for organic undergarments.

I’m often asked which organic undergarment brands I recommend, so I figured it was finally time to make a proper list.

As someone who values natural fabrics, breathability, comfort, and sustainability, switching to organic underwear honestly changed the game for me.

“Why I switched to organic fabrics”

I switched because microplastics and polyester have been linked to infertility and I never found polyester or plastic clothing too comfortable.

Organic undies, They are crucial! If you’re new to organic and sustainable fashion, I recommend starting with your undergarments as what you wear close to your body impacts your over-all skin and hormonal health.  Conventional underwear can contain synthetic fabrics, dyes, and chemicals that sit directly against some of the most absorbent parts of our bodies all day long…. so I personally love choosing options that feel softer, cleaner, and more aligned with my body. Polyester and synthetic fabrics are slowly poisoning our bodies and it’s time to make a change! Since changing over to organic undergarments since the 2010’s, i’ve felt better in a trillion different ways. I do believe it all begins with what we’re choosing to cloth ourselves with.

This list is in no particular order because each brand has different strengths and benefits depending on what you’re looking for.

1.

Echo Verde

“If underwear can feel like a second skin, this is it.”

Their underwear and undergarments are made with organic bamboo and legitimately feel like a second skin. I love the colours, the wearability, and especially the longevity of their pieces.

I bought a few sets back in 2021 and they’re still like new : which honestly impressed me because many bamboo undergarments I had tried before would stretch out after multiple washes.

I’ve never been a huge “wear a bra around the house” person, but their sets genuinely made me enjoy wearing undergarments again. They’re buttery soft, lightweight, breathable, and incredibly comfortable.

I’ve recently fallen in love with their new colour selection!

If you want to feel like you’re wrapped in a soft little cloud, I highly recommend them.

“Soft fabrics genuinely changed how I experience comfort at home.”

2 . Stone Kin

This is where organic cotton underwear meets structure.

I’m currently wearing their racerback bra and cheeky undies and I’m genuinely obsessed. The first time I wore them, I didn’t even want to go commando afterward 😆

No seriously though : the fit feels supportive, posture-enhancing, and incredibly grounding to wear. Their darker shades also double beautifully as workout wear or swimwear.I  love swimming in the ocean/ lakes with it as it.

I personally wear mine in the sauna after a good gym session and love how versatile they are.

3. pACT

PACT is amazing for organic basics.

They make some of my favourite simple everyday essentials, but they also have beautiful lace-inspired sets that still feel practical and wearable. If you’re looking for affordable organic staples, this is a great starting point.

I own a few basics from this company and the quality is great, and i’m in love with some of their newer undergarments… the lace is amazing! ”  Pact Women’s Underwear are made with Organic Cotton in a Fair Trade Factory. Pact uses Sustainable Materials, Ethical Manufacturing, and is Climate Friendly and Carbon Neutral. By choosing Organic Cotton, we can create Non-Toxic Clothing that uses 81% less water and 62% less energy.”

4. HUHA

Huha is especially interesting because their fabric contains zinc-infused lining for added freshness and hygiene support.

Now this is a cool brand! It’s canadian owned, eco-conscious and perfect for all body types.

I’ve had so many friends tell me these are their favourites during their cycle because they feel extra breathable and comfortable during that time of the month.

Definitely worth checking out if you’re someone who prioritizes intimate wellness and comfort.

HOW TO CARE FOR YOUR GARMENTS: LAUNDRY TIPS FOR LONGEVITY

EACH GARMENT IS UNIQUE

I recommend hand washing in cool water (or on gentle cycle depending on the garment)

USE QUALITY DETERGENTS

My favourites are african soap nuts or diluting some dr. bronners ( lavender or rose is my fave) or KOALA ECO WASH

HANG TO DRY OR LAY FLAT

Each fabric is unique so always research if it’s cotton, linen, bamboo etc.. research is key

The Golden Rules for All Natural Fabrics
  • Wash Less, Air More: Rotate your wardrobe and let pieces air out in a well-ventilated space between wears to naturally dissipate odors. [1]
  • Spot Clean First: Treat small stains individually with cold water and a drop of gentle detergent rather than tossing the entire garment into a wash. [1]
  • Cold Water & Gentle Detergent: Wash in cold water using an eco-friendly, mild detergent. Avoid bleach and strong fabric softeners, which break down natural fibers. [1, 2]
  • Air Dry Naturally: Lay garments flat or hang them to dry. Avoid direct, harsh sunlight, which can fade dyes, and keep items out of the tumble dryer to prevent shrinking and fiber damage. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]

MYSIELLA

Another Canadian, woman owned organic company that blends modern femininity with everyday comfort !

quince

Incredible organic basics! While the brand is not fully organic, there are some great finds! Their organic cotton products often carry certifications like OEKO-TEX Standard 100 (ensuring they are tested for harmful chemicals), and several lines are verified using the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS)

COZY AND SPICE

I met the founder of this company many years ago and i’ve been amazed by the hardwork she puts into creating these “moondies” perfect plant-based, hand-dyed moon panties.

They’re worth the splurge! (Image from site I do not claim the rights to the photo)

q IS FOR QUINN

Q IS FOR QUINN is great for basics and organic home essentials.

Organic underwear and organic bedding? Honestly, that’s the dream combo. I love brands that make it easier to create a healthier, more intentional home and wardrobe without spending a fortune.

EARTH AND ELLE

A close friend gifted me one of their sets and I instantly fell in love with it.

They’re a small grassroots BC business creating garments with hemp, cotton, and other natural fibres. I always love supporting smaller conscious brands that are creating thoughtfully and locally.

Their pieces feel earthy, comfortable, and beautifully handmade.

At the end of the day, organic underwear isn’t just about aesthetics

it’s about comfort, health, sustainability, and feeling good in what you wear every day.
